Danny Glynn

Danny Glynn is Artizen's primary songwriter and guitarist and shares lead vocal duties with Erin Harris. Born to a folk singer and a creative writer, Danny Glynn's feverish passion for music and literature began at a very early age. Danny began writing silly parodies and raps throughout his early childhood, and he began playing guitar and saxophone at ages ten and eleven respectively.

Through his teens, Danny Glynn was involved in various bands and solo projects, including a post-hardcore band and an experiment in electronic rock production. He soon founded the Marietta-based band Cause&Freedom, a folk-rock jam band with political and social justice undertones. The band dissolved in the early 2010s and Glynn began to write solo material.

Upon meeting James Hendrix, Danny became inspired to transition his solo work into material for a new band. His memorable melodies and messages of hope, unity, personal empowerment, and social justice were given new life by the varied influences and personalities of Artizen. His eccentric, charismatic, and often wildly unpredictable personality is mirrored by Artizen's incredibly diverse sound.

Danny Glynn was a private preschool teacher prior to pursuing music full-fime.

He enjoys reading, the performing arts, learning, teaching, and acquiring useless information. Danny is a long-time vegetarian and a Pisces. He lives with his girlfriend (and Artizen hoop performer) Lauren Elyse Newell, their cat, and their awkward dog Elbie.

James Hendrix

James Marshall Hendrix acquired the name of the legendary rock star through a combination of chance and destiny. Born with the last name Skeehan, James was given the first and middle name of the famous guitarist. He was later adopted by his step-father, whose last name happened to be Hendrix -- giving James the same full legal name as the illustrious Jimi Hendrix.

James Hendrix is the bassist for Artizen and performs percussion and guitar on occasion. He began playing guitar at age ten; James wrote and jammed with friends throughout his adolescence and experimented with various styles. He was first inspired to pick up bass in his late teens, but primarily played guitar and piano throughout his early twenties.

Hendrix was first introduced to Danny Glynn while both were playing guitar at a party at "The House of Ruhh", an Atlanta-area house of artists, musicians, and free spirits. The two later found themselves at an impromptu jam session, where James rediscovered his affinity for the bass guitar. Through their mutual desire for change in popular music as well as their shared vision for humanity, the duo began crafting songs as well as the philosophical groundwork for what would become Artizen.

James is engaged to Erin Harris and is a licensed massage therapist. He is Capricorn and a thrill-seeker; he enjoys rock climbing, long boarding, and skydiving.

Truman Covington

Erin Harris is the co-lead vocalist for Artizen, as well as a multi-instrumentalist providing ukulele, psychedelic soundscapes, and accessory percussion. Her powerful solo presence as well as her keen sense of harmony lend an unmistakable vocal brilliance to Artizen's unique sound. Originally a solo singer-songwriter, Harris adapted her unique guitar style to the ukulele in search of a new take on traditional rock band instrumentation.

Born in Los Angeles, Erin grew up the daughter of a preacher in a low-income environment. As a child, she sang in the church choir and was introduced to gospel, soul, and jazz music. Determined to escape the scene in which she was raised, Erin left SoCal to attend Humboldt State University in Arcata, through which she now holds a Bachelors in psychology, with dual minors in politics and ethics studies.

Harris moved to Georgia in 2015 and soon attended Alchemy, a local regional Burning Man event. There, she was introduced to James Hendrix and the two were "married" for the weekend. Upon realizing they lived nearby one another, James Hendrix invited Erin to an early Artizen practice session. There was instant chemistry; Harris performed with the band at their first official gig at Good Ol' Days in Cumming, GA in December 2015.

Erin owns and operates an aromatherapy and magika shop, The Wooden Vineyard, and became engaged to James Hendrix in early 2017. She is a Sagittarius and enjoys hooping, dancing, and performing.

Truman Covington began playing drums around the age of twelve and trained himself in various methods over the years. He honed his unique and artistic approach to the drum kit through hours on end of dedicated practice and toying with traditional techniques. Also an accomplished EDM producer, Covington's technical prowess has guided Artizen's exploration into psychedelia and electronic soundscapes.

Truman was introduced to the band through Veronica Moyer (née Planos), the vocalist and guitarist in an early iteration of Artizen. The band auditioned Covington in his own home and immediately began working through material. Truman cites the music of the moment, as opposed to any genre or style, as his primary musical influence – which lends a tangible layer of honest depth to Artizen's habit of genre exploration. He has played part in several collaborative efforts, including The Unnatural Prime, DVC-Back Up, and various metal projects.

To be honest, we don't know much about Truman. He is an enigma wrapped inside a crazy white dude. We do know, though, that his sharp talent and enormous personality often lend an engaging, humorous element to Artizen's live shows.

Truman is a Sagittarius and a talented digital painter. He might also be a ninja, or a CIA agent, or just a guy who likes his sleep schedule. He has a knack for finding hilarious YouTube videos.
